Show & Tell: Home Tour: Before and After
So today I'm linking up with Momfessionals to do a Show and Tell: Home Tour and I've decided to add in our BEFORE pictures. Because y'all, this house, it was a hot mess when we bought it. My husband and my amazing father in law did all the work! We love our house now, but I'm not going to lie, the first year here, living in renovations, doing my student teaching, having a 2.5yo and having a newborn, it was a rough year! So here we go!
When you walk into my front door, you walk in with the dining room to your left and the living room to your right.
You see our family pictures the second you walk in our front door.
Pay no attention to the tiny tv. We are in the middle of moving things around!
Our dining room table always has something on it.
Our kitchen. Behind the curtains leads out into our back deck and yard.
Other view.
If its summer, our deck is covered in towels and swimsuits and chalk and toys. It is what it is.
Our backyard extends to the tree line of our back neighbor. We love how much space we have.
You can look into our family room from the kitchen. This is where we spend our days. Its the only room with carpet and holds most of our toys. I REALLY need to update all our wall pictures. I haven't done that since Callie came along.
View from the hallway.
Hallway bathroom.
View from the hallway of Callie's room.
Don't mind the lone "i" on the wall. Its suppose to have her whole name but the other letters fell down. Glen is suppose to be putting them back up this week.
The girls room from the hallway. Oh, the mess! Between all the clothes and toys I'm still unsure of how to make this room not look like a mess all the time. I have decorations for their walls too but haven't got them up yet.
No door on their closet so they have more floor space to play. Thinking I might put a curtain up now though.
Our bedroom from the hallway.
Our bathroom is through the door. Eventually we want to build on a Master Suite so that they girls all have their own rooms.
Now for the before pictures. We tore down walls, moved doorways, tore out a fireplace. We did major work on this house!
The old kitchen. Its still in the same spot, we just opened up the room differently.
Our laundry room. It still looks like this BUT it should be getting a facelift in September!!! I'm so excited.
Hallway bathroom.
The big girls bedroom.
Our old bathroom. It was AWFUL!
The dining room. Yes, thats a fish tank IN my wall.
The old family room. And yes, that is 12x12 mirrors on that wall.
The old living room.
Callie's old room.
Our old bedroom.
We basically lived here and gutted it at the same time. Y'all. I don't suggest it. It was a stressful year. But we love it now! We slept in the living room for the first 6 months until the bedrooms were renovated. Addie wasn't allowed down the hallway. This was the only home we could find in the area we needed to move to when Glen got his new job. At the time I couldn't see the road we would be going down, I just remember not being happy. But now I look back and thank God for the road that lead us to this house. We are in an awesome neighborhood. We found a wonderful church 5 mins down the road. I LOVE the school we are in, its small and with everything going on with Addie, its been a wonderful fit. And we have neighbors 4 doors down that are our girls best friends! We've been here for almost 6 years and we are still doing little things here and there (like the laundry room) but thats okay, it will get there. I'm itching to paint and completely redecorate too but I'm not sure I can talk Glen into it. lol I love our home though and we are so blessed!
Thanks for stopping by!
It's amazing what you've done with the house. What an improvement!
