Speak to Your Mountain: Apraxia Walk 2015
Saturday morning we got up bright and early and headed to the WV 2nd Annual Apraxia Walk. We had a baby fighting an ear infection and the weather was terrible but we went! =)
They ended up moving everything indoors because of the rain. The walk raised over $5000! The money is used to help CASANA (The Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America) provide iPads for kids with Apraxia (iPads have so many different therapy applications that can really help kiddos). The organization will also help parents write letters to insurance companies to try to get kids speech paid for. You wouldn't believe the lack of funds for speech therapy that insurance company's provide. Even with everything Addie has going on, we only get 20 sessions a year. We are so thankful that our school pulls her out 3x a week to work with speech therapy as well!
We really had a good day. We got to talk to a few families that have walked a similar road. We meet one little boy that has even been released from speech therapy he is doing so well. The day was really about just loving on these kiddos that have all worked hard and been through so much.
For us, we have hope and faith that Addie will completely beat this. She's walking a road that not many people understand but God has a big plan for her life. We will not ever live defeated. We celebrate her. We celebrate the milestones as they come. And we are so proud of her!
We wore our shirts to the walk. Glen designed them and I love them. Matthew 21:21 says,
21 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done.
We are standing in faith and are not doubting that God will make our girl completely whole! And we want to be a light to other families to have that same faith!

Here are some pictures from our day! Thanks for stopping by. Catch y'all later! =)
