Friday Favorites

Woohoo for Friday! Today I'm linking up with one of my favorite blogs, Momfessionals, for Friday Favorites. Make sure to check out the link up and join in on the fun!

First off, a favorite this week is my new name and blog layout. I felt like it was time for a change and Life in Pigtails seemed to suit this time in our lives better. With three girls we are definitely living life in pigtails.

I have to say, I've been counting down to THIS Friday for the last 4 weeks. Today is bittersweet for our family!

Seven years ago this past March my husband took a job in Athens, OH. For the last 7 years he has been up before 5am, drove an hour and 20 mins one way to work, worked a full day, and would drive the hour and a half back home and try to be home by 5pm everyday.

While the drive was not ideal, the company he worked for was amazing! When you have a kiddo with special needs, the medical bills are just insane. Our insurance has been such a HUGE blessing these last 7 years when our Addie was going through all of her evaluations, all of her different doctors, and being put to sleep 9 times. He started this job right when we started our journey with her down this special needs road. And even though she still has her struggles we are coming out the other side with her and are slowly getting released from a bunch of doctors. God blessed us so much when this company found Glens resume and hires him almost immediately.

They have also been super good to him when he has needed off for doctor appointments or if I was sick and he needed to stay home to help with our girls or even if it snowed and he couldn't make it to work. He has loved the last 7 years there. And getting to work with NASA has also been a major perk.

Because of some changes, his job became uncertain in January so he decided to put his resume in at a few places closer to home. On Monday he starts his new job!

We are so excited for this new chapter. It's a really good job and the biggest perk is that he is literally a minute from our home!! After 10 years of never having him home in the mornings, we are finally going to get to see him in the mornings!! Plus after 10 years, he will not have over an hour drive to work anymore!

I'm so proud of him and everything he has accomplished in the last 10 years. And super excited to see where this next step takes us!

Take a minute and stop by my favorite form of social media, Instagram, and follow along, @mandirenee. I'm always posting over there! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
